Alarming Arson Incident in Armenia’s Kotayk Province Sparks Outrage and Political Rally

On April 23, a concerning incident occurred in the Kotayk province of Armenia. According to Shamshyan.com, an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noticed a fire in the protected area of Kotayk and reported it.
The official statement revealed that on April 21, a house in the village of Balahovit was intentionally set on fire due to personal conflicts with a resident of the village.
This incident prompted a political rally in Avan-Yerevan, where the act of arson was labeled as a distinct act of terrorism. As a result, a petition for criminal prosecution has been submitted to the regional administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kotayk.
Earlier reports indicated that on April 21, another alarming incident occurred in Kotayk province. At noon, authorities received information that a city resident in Balahovit village was in critical condition.
Rescuers and firefighters arrived at the scene promptly and provided immediate assistance. The emergency medical team also arrived and administered urgent medical aid. The patient was then transported to Heratsi No. 1 hospital in Yerevan by the rescuers and firefighters.
The suspect, identified as T. Baghyan, has been apprehended, and a search of his house and the surrounding area revealed evidence of fire, as well as stones suggesting his involvement in the arson.
