An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 struck the central part of Turkey, as reported by the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake originated from a depth of 5 km below the surface.
Tremors resulting from this seismic activity were felt up to 30 km away from the town of Tokat and 19 km away from the city of Turhal.
