“Tragic Drowning Incident in Kotayk Province: Missing Man’s Body Found at Jrvej Reservoir”

On April 20, a tragic incident took place in the Kotayk province of Armenia. At approximately 09:30, the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report about a person falling into the water near the Jrvej reservoir on the Avoyan-Nubarashen highway.

Rescuers and divers promptly arrived at the scene and discovered the body of a 56-year-old man named Artur Makachyan. Makachyan had been reported missing in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. This discovery was made by the dedicated team of rescuers and divers who had been searching for him.

A preliminary examination conducted by the forensic doctor revealed that Makachyan’s cause of death was drowning, which was likely the result of a fall. As a result of this tragic incident, a criminal case has been initiated.

Makachyan had been missing since February 22, and the rescue team of the Emergency Situations Department’s Erebuni division had been actively searching for him during that time.
