Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan Mourns the Loss of Former Russian Diplomat and Nagorno-Karabakh Mediator, Vladimir Kazimirov

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has expressed his condolences to the family of former President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kazimirov, who recently passed away. Sargsyan stated, “It is with deep regret that I learned about the death of the renowned Russian diplomat, former mediator in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution process, former representative of the President of the Russian Federation, and first ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia, Vladimir Kazimirov.”

Vladimir Kazimirov was a highly respected expert who used his extensive knowledge and experience to promote justice and human values. He played a significant role in the negotiation process during the first Karabakh War and signed the trilateral ceasefire agreement on May 9, 1994.

Kazimirov’s remarkable contribution in strengthening Armenian-Russian friendly relations and his efforts in preparing and implementing diplomatic approaches and peacekeeping operations are also noteworthy. Sadly, he passed away without witnessing a peaceful resolution for Nagorno-Karabakh, which was his greatest desire.

May his soul find peace during the ongoing negotiations. Serzh Sargsyan extends his condolences to the family of Vladimir Kazimirov, as well as to our compatriots, friends, and colleagues.
