“Mark Zuckerberg on Track to Surpass Elon Musk as the Wealthiest Person, as Meta’s Shares Soar and Musk’s Decline”
Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Meta, is set to become the wealthiest person, surpassing American entrepreneur Elon Musk, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI). In just one day, Zuckerberg’s wealth increased by $2.6 billion, bringing it to a total of $178 billion.
During the day’s trading, Meta’s shareholders experienced a 1.5% gain following the company’s announcement of the new Llama 3 model and the updated version of the Meta AI chatbot. Meanwhile, Musk’s wealth decreased by $4 billion, resulting in a total of $170 billion. Consequently, Musk has dropped to the fourth position on the BBI’s richest people list. Additionally, Tesla’s shareholders declined by 3.6% on Friday.
The current richest individual, as per the BBI, is Bernard Arnault, the CEO of the French company LVMH (LVMH Moet Hennessy – Louis Vuitton), with a wealth totaling $218 billion. Occupying the second position is Jeff Bezos, the former CEO of Amazon, whose wealth amounts to $201 billion.
