The disciplinary committee has issued a statement regarding the accusation of harassment involving lawyer Vahan Hovhannisyan. The committee expressed concern about the incident and stated that a video was released on Facebook on April 19, showing a vehicle approaching the garage of the administrative building in the Syunik region of Yerevan. The committee clarifies that the video does not reflect reality and its quality is inadequate to determine the incident’s authenticity. The lawyer’s family has filed a complaint with the committee.

In order to maintain societal unity and prevent erosion of trust in the legal system, the committee has referred the incident to the Prosecutor General’s Office for investigation. On April 3, during a separate incident, a masked and armed individual attempted to break into the “Haypost” department in Bagratunyats Street for robbery. Despite the decision by a judge for a forensic examination to clarify the circumstances, the prosecutor’s office has not provided any relevant evidence. The use of physical force and unauthorized actions by G.M. during the incident disrupted legal proceedings and resulted in injuries to three workplace employees.

It is important to note that G.M. had no legal justification for the use of force, and further investigations will clarify additional details.
