“Transport Minister Tigran Khachatryan Appointed as Ambassador to France: Boosting Cooperation and Investments on the Agenda”

Transport Minister Tigran Khachatryan has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the French Republic. He will also have concurrent accreditation to the Principality of Andorra. This decision was made by the Government of Armenia and has been approved by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs. The meeting where this appointment was discussed included representatives from the French and Armenian defense and security departments.

As the Ambassador, Khachatryan’s main responsibilities will be to deepen cooperation with France in the field of transport and to promote an increase in French investments in Armenia. During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development of various infrastructure projects, including those related to roads, railways, and energy. They paid special attention to the ongoing program of the Iran-Qatar Transport Corridor, which is part of the larger Eurasian Transport Program.

Additionally, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together on investment programs. In particular, they are focused on the ongoing development of the Vedi irrigation and energy system. Both sides expressed their willingness to continue collaborating in the field of transportation, including exchanging experts in the areas of road, aviation, and energy. This cooperation aims to continually improve their mutual collaboration.

It is worth noting that Nigol Pashinyan and Arman Grigoryan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, have also been appointed as representatives of the delegation from the RA HMCS (Republic of Armenia Ministry of Defense).
