“Controversy Surrounds Armenia’s Decision to Join EU Partnership: Zhoghovurd Newspaper Reports Public Dissatisfaction”

The decision of the RA Government to join the EU’s partnership with Armenia has raised concerns and dissatisfaction among the public, according to the “Zhoghovurd” newspaper. The newspaper previously reported that the RA National Security Service directed all questions about the security of CPP members to the EU Partnership for Peace. Last week, Nikol Pashinyan visited the NSS multiple times to discuss the details of the special question regarding ES membership, despite it being a closed-door meeting. However, it appears that the CPP members have rejected these discussions for now, considering it not an urgent matter and deciding to suspend them. Sources suggest that the urgency within the CPP stems from disagreements within the party on the course of action. The “European Method” team believes in quick action and overcoming obstacles to ensure a successful process, but other party members argue that it is a challenging task that requires careful evaluation and new actions. While the discussion on ES membership is not closed, it has been shifted to a secondary priority.
