Armenian and Saudi Arabian Leaders Discuss Economic Cooperation and Create “Roadmap” for Bilateral Relations

Ararat Mirzoyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, recently held a meeting with Faisal bin Fadl bin Mohsin Al-Ibrahim, the Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia. The discussions between the two parties focused on various aspects of economic cooperation between Armenia and Saudi Arabia. Mirzoyan emphasized the need to establish a comprehensive framework for bilateral relations in order to promote trade and economic ties. The Saudi side expressed its support for this idea and proposed the creation of a “roadmap” to address any existing differences between the two countries, with the aim of maximizing the potential for economic cooperation. Additionally, both parties discussed the importance of dialogue, reciprocal agreements, and institutional frameworks in strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting also covered the establishment of an investment agreement and a legal database to facilitate economic cooperation. Mirzoyan provided detailed information about the “JoyGeneva” program, an initiative by the Armenian government to attract foreign investment, which has garnered attention from various international partners. Furthermore, Mirzoyan suggested exploring opportunities for cooperation in the field of the marine economy, specifically in relation to renewable energy sources in the Caspian Sea.
