“Former First Lady of Armenia, Lilita Putina, Under Scrutiny for Villa Purchase in France”

Former First Lady of Armenia, Lilita Putina, reportedly purchased a villa named “Suzanne” in the coastal town of Biarritz, France. The villa, located near the Mediterranean Sea, was acquired in December 2023. Transparency International’s French branch initiated an investigation into the means used to acquire the property. The villa, consisting of eight rooms and a garden, is already estimated to be worth €5.4 million.

This is the first instance of information regarding Putina’s real estate involvement since 2017, when journalists from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project uncovered her financial connections. According to documents analyzed by the reporters, Putina acquired the villa in 2013.

Vladimir and Lilita Putina publicly announced their separation in 2013. Although Putina’s second marriage has not been officially disclosed, it is publicly known that she remarried in 2016.
