“Authorities Allegedly Aided Samvel Vardanyan’s Daring Escape from Kidnappers Tied to a Car”

Authorities Helped Samvel Vardanyan Escape from the Clutches of a Kidnapped Person Tied to a Car

Today, April 17, lawyer Hovhannes Khudoyan addressed journalists from the KС news agency, stating that there is currently no definitive opinion on the matter as there has been no extensive evidence-based investigation. However, he noted that the incident appears to have been a carefully planned and executed operation by an organized group, with the involvement of authorities. The victim of the kidnapping has also confirmed this involvement. If proven true, this would constitute a serious crime, punishable by up to 12 years of imprisonment.

It is important to note that prior to this incident, there was a heated conflict between Samvel Vardanyan, a prominent public figure, and former military police commander Jacob Aslanyan, which took place on public transportation. Vardanyan had allegedly made derogatory remarks towards Aslanyan, referring to him as a “pseudo-Armenian soldier.” In response, Aslanyan was caught on video attacking Vardanyan, allegedly kicking him before disappearing.

Following this altercation, Vardanyan has mysteriously disappeared. His legal team has released information suggesting that he was apprehended by the police and taken towards Yerevan in a YPC vehicle.

Currently, this case continues to unfold, and updates from Armenia will provide further details as they become available.
