“State of Emergency in Yerevan: Fire on Margaryan Street Leads to Casualties”

On April 5th, a state of emergency was declared in Yerevan due to a fire that broke out on Margaryan Street, causing casualties. The internal affairs Ministry of the Republic of Armenia received operational information about the incident at 17:10. Photographer Gagik Shamshyan reported that an operational group, led by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Bukhniatsian and head of the operational department Gevorg Poghosyan, will arrive at the scene.

At 18:10, the “Malayan” medical center confirmed that there were casualties on Margaryan Street 173/4. An unidentified person inhaled an unknown chemical substance, resulting in “chemical burn of both eyes, grade 1” diagnosis. Both victims, 20-year-old Margarita A. and 18-year-old Hakob A., are residents of Yerevan. The urgent assistance group promptly moved them to two hospitals.
