The Chamber of Parliament of Armenia has announced additional security measures to be implemented on April 15th. This is being declared as the First Alert Level. According to the statement, on that day, the chamber will operate at the “red” level of security. This decision was made by the President of the Chamber of Parliament of Armenia, and approved by the N1/259/23 command on September 4, 2023. As a result, access to the Parliament building will be restricted for visitors. Only individuals invited by the building authorities, such as representatives of international organizations, will be allowed access to parliamentary events, including committee meetings. The restriction will not affect the activity of television companies and media accredited journalists. The purpose of this measure is to ensure a safe and productive working environment for the Armenian Parliament, as stated in the announcement from the Chamber of Parliament of Armenia.
