“Armenian National Science Olympiad Announces Winners; Projects Selected for European Union Contest for Young Scientists”

The results of the Armenian National Science Olympiad have been announced. The competition included representatives from scientific organizations and field-specific scientific institutions. For the first time, representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport also participated in the committee. According to NEWS.am, three projects have been selected to participate in The European Union (EU) Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) in Poland. These projects include “Melatonin and Lipovitamine Effects on the Growth of Dairy Cattle’s Young” from Yebradzor’s A. Griboyedov No. 11 school, “Coffee Grounds as Fertilizer” from Syunik Province’s Sarukhan No. 2 middle school, and the same “Melatonin and Lipovitamine Effects on the Growth of Dairy Cattle’s Young” project from Yerevan’s “Hero” high school.

In addition, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Armenia defined the supplementary project for this year. The project “Witch Hazel as a Cure,” conducted by the 2nd Sarukhan middle school in Gegharkunik Province, and the “Melatonin and Lipovitamine Effects on the Growth of Dairy Cattle’s Young” project from Yerevan’s “Hero” high school were among the winners in the 2nd category. A total of 23 projects were awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in various categories including “Mathematics and Programming,” “Physics and Astronomy,” “Chemistry,” “Biology,” and “Social Sciences.” Additionally, 12 projects received a commendation.

The Armenian National Science Olympiad aims to promote scientific research, collective work, implementation of innovative projects, and their presentation. It serves as a platform for young scientists to showcase their talents and compete at a national level. By participating in international contests like EUCYS, these talented individuals have the opportunity to gain recognition and further their passion for science.
