An 85-year-old mother, Kristine Jernnan, has been accused of committing a “brutal murder” in Aydahov by setting fire to and killing her son. According to local authorities, her son had been abusing her and causing significant damage to her house.

The incident took place in early March when the suspect entered her daughter-in-law’s house and assaulted her with a wooden stick. The court’s statement reveals that during the confrontation, it became evident that the crime was committed under “great emotional stress.” It was reported that Kristine hit her son’s head while he was lying in bed, causing severe bleeding from his forehead and the back of his head. She then proceeded to tie him up and set fire to his room.

During her court appearance, Jernnan mentioned that her memory of the incident is “blurry.” The local court records indicate that she recalled returning to the room and attempting to extinguish the fire after setting it ablaze twice.

As a result, the defendant tragically took her own life in the kitchen. Ten hours later, doctors arrived at the scene and performed emergency surgery. Sadly, they were only able to provide assistance in the morning when they discovered the son’s critical condition.
