“Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian Communities Unite for Sydney March Honoring Armenian Genocide: Advocates Seek Justice and Accountability”

Representatives of the Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian communities in Sydney are coming together to organize a march on April 21st to honor the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The march will commence near Hyde Park Archibald, with participants gathering there before setting off.

Nanor Shakayan, a member of the organizing committee and president of the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia, emphasized the importance of seeking justice for the genocide. Shakayan stated, “When crimes go unpunished, it only encourages the perpetrators and their successors. The lack of accountability has allowed those in power in Turkey and Azerbaijan to continue to oppress our compatriots who reside in those nations.”
