High-profile Corruption Trial Begins in Armenia Involving Former Officials of Medical University and Director of SPC LLC

In the RA Court of Cassation on April 11, a trial is currently taking place under the chairmanship of Vahe Dolmazyan, the President of the Chamber of Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases. The individuals being examined include Arman Dulyan, the former President of the RA Constitutional Court, Marta Simonyan, the former rector of the Medical University, Larisa Parseghyan, the former chief accountant of the University, and Rolan Davtyan, the director of SPC LLC.

The court has released a decision regarding the disqualification of Arman Ashotyan, at his own request. It is important to note that Arman Ashotyan is presently under arrest.

The accused individuals are facing charges related to corrupt actions within the “Yerevan Mkhitar Heratsi State Medical University” Foundation. These charges include the misappropriation of public property on a large scale, embezzlement of funds, and fraud involving property.

Mikayel Narimanyan is accused based on Part 2 of Article 308 and Part 1 of Article 3 of the 179th article. Additionally, he is charged under Part 5 of Article 2 of the RA Criminal Code of Crimes against Public Health and Part 3 of the 256th article. As a temporary measure of restraint, he has been detained and taken into custody.

Marta Simonyan is facing accusations based on Part 1 of Article 3 of the 38-179th article, Part 1 of Article 3 of the 190th article, and Part 1 of the 325th article. This corresponds to Part 3 of the 296th article, Part 3 of the 457th article, and Part 1 of the 457th article. She has been subjected to measures of restraint, including arrest, written undertaking, and suspension from her position.
