Armenian-Georgian Relations Show Positive Shifts, But Military Cooperation Still Requires Attention

Positive changes have taken place in Armenian-Georgian relations, with a focus still needed on military cooperation. On April 11th, a press conference titled “Armenia-Georgia Military Cooperation” was held, featuring the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan.

Kostanyan expressed his opinion that positive changes have occurred in recent years, transforming the relationship between the two countries. While in the past there was a policy of non-interference in each other’s affairs, the two governments now have mutual interests and are working together to overcome challenges. However, Kostanyan noted that more trust and mutual understanding are necessary for the relationship to progress further.

The minister emphasized the need to improve economic relations and increase interactions between the peoples of Armenia and Georgia. He called for all available means to be used to enhance cooperation in all spheres.

Kostanyan also highlighted the importance of the scientific community in supporting the governments’ efforts to advance cooperation between the two countries in all areas.
