The investigation of a criminal case in the province of YKV Malatya-Sebastia is currently underway. The domestic department of the RA Investigative Committee is working to uncover the circumstances surrounding a violent intrusion that resulted in significant damage to property in the province of Ararat. The incident occurred on April 10, 2024, at 07:55 am.

According to NEWS.am, the police received information about a violent conflict that took place on that same day and time, involving people from different nationalities, leading to physical assault and beatings. Soon after, a vehicle belonging to the Parakar community of the Ararat province, specifically a “Honda Sonata” with license plate “Hundai Sonata,” was discovered on the highway. Inside the vehicle, three individuals were found in possession of a weapon.

As a result of the incident, a criminal investigation has been initiated under the articles 252, part 3, section 4, and 335, part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A dedicated investigation team has been assigned to carry out the necessary actions and inquiries.

During the preliminary investigation, more details have emerged regarding the events of April 10 at 07:10 am. It was found that four individuals armed with sharp objects forcibly abducted the driver and two passengers from a Hyundai Sonata vehicle. They physically assaulted the victims before dumping them into a river, causing injuries. The perpetrators also used tear gas to set fire to goods worth approximately 1.24 million AMD, 36 kilograms of gold jewelry, and additional goods valued at about 1.216 million AMD. They managed to escape with 293 million rubles worth of money and valuables.

The injured individuals have been identified and provided with medical treatment. At the crime scene, a device used for taking photographs was discovered, and the fingerprints of the suspected individuals were taken. Appropriate examinations are underway to gather additional evidence.

The investigation is still ongoing, with various investigative and operational activities being carried out. The aim is to clarify the roles, consequences, and actions of all individuals involved in order to identify and bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.
