Important court hearings in the case of Narek Melkonyan are ongoing and will conclude on April 11th. According to lawyer Ruben Melikyan, the verdict will be announced on the same day. The court session is scheduled for 17:00 at the “Central” court building in Yerevan (23/1 Tigran Mets).

During the previous court hearing, there was a surprise announcement that the hearings would continue behind closed doors. However, Melkonyan declined to participate in the closed session, and the court ultimately decided to return to an open regime.

“Therefore, tomorrow’s hearing should be open and accessible to both the media and the public, with exception to any violation of court hearing rules by the participants,” Melikyan added.

It is important to note that Melkonyan is currently in custody until September 20, 2023. “It has been almost 7 months,” Melikyan remarked.
