“Explosions Rock Yerevan: Confrontation over Fireworks Leads to Chaotic Chase”

Explosions were heard in Yerevan on April 5th, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The explosions occurred in a garage in the Charbakh district, where a group of individuals were setting off fireworks between 22:30 and 22:50. The incident resulted in the discovery of 13 “Kalashnikov” type fireworks with a diameter of 5.45 mm and 3 “Makarov” type fireworks with a diameter of 9 mm.

Further details provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that on April 5th at 16:30, a conflict arose between residents of Yerevan, Davit Khachatryan, Sargis Khachatryan, and Karen Hovhannisyan, along with another individual from Gegharkunik province. Later that day, 30-year-old D. Khachatryan was found in possession of fireworks, leading to a physical altercation between the involved parties.

In response, K. Hovhannisyan, along with his associates, chased after D. Khachatryan and S. Khachatryan, who were driving a “Kia” car. Additional vehicles, including a “Mazda,” a “Volkswagen,” and a “Toyota,” joined the chase. Gorg Israelian, present at the scene, shot fireworks at K. Hovhannisyan and his associates using an “AK” air gun.

Security and investigative measures are currently being taken to address the activities of all individuals involved in the incident.
