“Armenia’s Abandoned Buildings to Be Transformed into Social Housing: PM Pashinyan Explores Restoration Opportunities”

For the past 30 years, construction works and buildings in Armenia, known as agricultural enterprises during the Soviet era, have been ongoing. These large factories were crucial in providing settlements for people. They served as hubs for creative activities and demonstrations. During an interview on April 10th with the Chairman of the RA National Agency, Vardan Harutyunyan, the head of Labor and Social Affairs Questions, Narachh Mkrchyanyan, proposed an idea to utilize the unfinished buildings for displaced people from Karabakh. Mkrchyanyan suggested organizing the necessary documents and resources to support business activities in these areas. The discussion also touched upon the importance of village identities and providing opportunities for city dwellers to experience village life and its benefits. Additionally, the social housing project was mentioned, with the issue of its final image still under debate. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed interest in converting certain buildings from the Syunik region into social housing units, while also emphasizing the need for better conditions and improvements in the country.
