“The United Nations Urges Increased Assistance to Ukraine and Emphasizes Importance of Biden’s Peace Plan, says Official”

The United Nations is expressing concern over the need to increase assistance to Ukraine and the importance of accepting the peace plan proposed by Joe Biden’s administration. Methe Miller, a United Nations official, informed Voice of America that they want Congress to support the negotiation process with Ukraine and provide the necessary assistance for Ukrainian protection. Regarding Ukraine’s participation in NATO, Miller stated that the deadline for joining NATO remains unchanged. However, discussions about Ukraine’s integration into the Alliance will resume after the completion of the conflict. Miller believes that the United States is dangerously following Russian propaganda, particularly in relation to the situation in the Eastern Partnership. They cited an official report received by the United Nations from the Eurasian Economic Commission, which stated that an unauthorized military base does not pose a threat to regional security. Miller emphasized the dangers of Russia’s attempts to control the situation in Ukraine, calling on Russia to withdraw its military and civilian personnel, return control to Ukraine, and refrain from actions that could escalate into a nuclear war.

Miller’s concerns stem from the August agreement between President Zelensky and the new U.S. President. As Ukraine faces ongoing challenges, it is crucial for international support to be provided to ensure the protection of the country.
