“EU Demands Shake Armenian Government: Tensions Over Key Position Echo in GSH Administration”

A recent newspaper article states that the authorities in Armenia, along with the United States and the European Union, have presented both published documents and undisclosed obligations. It was previously reported that Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, called for the removal of individuals with ties to Russia from positions of power. Furthermore, there are new developments related to this matter. The European Union has expressed concerns and made a series of demands regarding certain positions, particularly mentioning GSH Chief Eduard Asriyan. It is important to note that there are disagreements within the GSH administration regarding the resignation of Arpiné Sargsyan, with some members having connections to European Union institutions. Our sources indicate that the GSH administration aims to ensure political diversity in this position, preferably selecting someone who understands the military institution well. Although it seems that they have reached a consensus through their representative, the final decision-maker has not been determined yet.”
