IDBank and Idram Lead the Way in Responsible Banking with Declaration for Gender Equality

On April 4, IDBank and Idram made a joint declaration of the Principles of Responsible Banking. The declaration was signed by various organizations participating in the MAKS Acceleration Program. Before the signing, the “Ringing the Bell for Gender Equality” event took place. It was organized by MAZTS in cooperation with the Armenian Philanthropic Corporations.

Several notable individuals attended the event, including Constantine Sokolsky, the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Claus Keeper, the Head of the Austrian Development Cooperation’s program for stabilization in Armenia, Olga Azatyan, the Representative of “MAK Kanayk” organization, and Hayk Eghanian, the CEO of the Armenian Philanthropic Corporation.

The declaration was signed by Mher Abrahamian, the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, on behalf of IDBank. During his closing remarks, Abrahamian emphasized the importance of the company’s commitment to gender equality and improvement of performance indicators. He stated, “We provide specific conditions for our employees to grow professionally and ensure sustainable performance. We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards for our country, and we take every measure to prevent any discrimination or violence within our organization.”

The Idram announcement was signed by MRC CEO Astghik Zilfimian. Zilfimian highlighted that 50% of Idram’s management team consists of women, which is considered a positive indicator for the country. She expressed the company’s opposition to any form of discrimination or violence against women and their commitment to promoting gender equality in all aspects of their organization, business, and workplace.

Since 2010, “MAK Kanayk” and MAK’s Global Convention have been working together to implement the objectives of the UN Global Compact in the state. Their main goal is to empower women and girls in the business world and workplace, eliminating gender-based inequalities.
