“Faux Fluency: Criminal Case Unveils Russian Language Certificates Scam Exploiting Moscow’s Immigration System”

In Moscow, a criminal case has been opened regarding the organization of illegal migration and the provision of Russian language and everyday life knowledge to undocumented migrants. The intention was to present these documents to foreign law enforcement agencies in order to obtain residency permission in the capital city.

According to the RF Investigative Committee, a large number of foreigners did not possess the necessary knowledge to acquire such certificates. The distribution of these documents was carried out by a group of individuals, some of whom were employees of the state institute of the Russian language named after Pushkin.
