“A Global Crisis Unfolds: Border Dispute in Tavush Puts Armenia at Risk, Warns Ishkhan Saghatelyan”

The problem being discussed today is not just a local issue. During a meeting with residents in Voskepar, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the leader of the “Armenia” party, stated that it is an international issue and a problem for the Armenian people. He pointed out that a new dangerous situation is unfolding on the border of Armenia. The issue of the Tavush villages has been escalating since it was mentioned in a document dated November 9. Saghatelyan emphasized the need to solve this issue politically and bring this danger closer to the borders of the Republic of Armenia.

Saghatelyan also called for a united march to start the liberation of the Tavush region. However, he clarified that this is not a true liberation as Azerbaijan refuses to engage in dialogue until the work on liberating territories is completed. Saghatelyan highlighted the importance of these territories, as they hold military significance for Armenia. If the war continues on this path, Armenia’s defense system, military roads, and the main gas pipeline supplying the country will be under the control of the enemy. This would force Armenia to move the front line closer to its settlements, with no promises of prosperity or improved lives.

Saghatelyan criticized the ruling party and its leader, Nikol Pashinyan, stating that they symbolize war and dictatorship. He argued that they are incapable of bringing victory or prosperity to the Armenian people. When Pashinyan claims that these villages are not Armenian, he legitimizes Azerbaijan’s aggression with the consent of Armenia. Saghatelyan stressed that this is the reality that must be faced.
