According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), a 4.5 magnitude earthquake has struck China. The earthquake was reported to have occurred in the Sinkjian-Yujurakan autonomous region, which is home to a population of 102,000. This region is situated 62 km northeast of the Kucha district. The epicenter of the earthquake was found to be 10 km beneath the surface.
