On April 1, the police in Vaghshapat received a tip regarding a local resident, aged 49, who sells fish from Lake Sevan but also keeps and sells illegal tobacco products. Customs officers acted on this information and found a point of sale to investigate further. During their search, they discovered not only contraband tobacco, but also illegal drugs. At the Vaghshapat police station, a routine inspection revealed a bag containing 2420 packs of cigarettes. The suspect claimed to have bought the cigarettes from an unidentified person and admitted to intending to sell both the drugs and cigarettes. The investigation is currently underway.
