At least 963 people were injured as a consequence of the recent earthquake in Taiwan, according to a press conference held by the representative of the Taiwan Civil Defense System. The highest number of casualties occurred in the city of Sainbai, with 248 people injured, followed by Hualien County with 176. These figures differ from the previously reported death toll of 821, as the list of deceased is still being compiled. Additionally, 143 people are currently missing or awaiting assistance in remote areas.
