“Turmoil at “GOY” Theater: Artistic Director Speaks Out as Entrance is Blocked by National Academic Theater”

During a meeting with journalists on April 2nd, the artistic director of the “GOY” Theater, Arthur Sahakyan, made a statement. It should be noted that the employees of the “GOY” Theater are currently unable to access the theater as its entrance is closed. Sahakyan explained that their plans to work have failed due to issues related to another theater. He expressed frustration that this theater, which is still operating, is keeping equipment that belongs to the “GOY” Theater and is affecting their income. Sahakyan also criticized Vardan Mkrtchyan, the director of the “Sunduk” Theater, for closing their theater and taking on the role of director, despite being an artist of Soso Sargsyan. Sahakyan highlighted the familial connections between Mkrtchyan and their accountant and administrator, and emphasized that they have submitted their signatures to the court, indicating their disagreement with the situation. He further mentioned that their attempts to enter the theater have been hindered by placing plastic on the door. It is important to note that the national academic theater named after Gabriel Sundukyan has closed the entrance to the “GOY” Theater and is interfering with its regular operations. The “GOY” Theater has taken the matter to the administrative court to challenge the decision to unite it with the national academic theater.
