The man, known as Gbobu Voulomo, is the spiritual leader of the community and is accused of conducting rituals, teaching cultural traditions, and performing ceremonies during “initiation” ceremonies.

According to reports from the BBC, the spiritual room operated by Gbobu Voulomo claims to be a religious institution. However, the minimum age of marriage in the country is 18.

In recent years, child marriages have been on the decline in this country, but the practice still persists. Authorities were able to locate and rescue the girl, who is now under the protection of her guardians.

Government officials and social services intervened in the case, providing the necessary support to the 12-year-old girl until the investigation is complete.
