The high-ranking official of the MEC, Jayme McGoldrick, responsible for humanitarian assistance in Gaza, has strongly condemned the killing of eight members of a productive group of workers who were actively contributing to reducing unemployment. McGoldrick stated that this act is unacceptable under any circumstances. She further revealed that from October 2023 until March 20, a shocking number of 196 workers in a productive building in Gaza lost their lives, surpassing the casualty figures from any conflict in a year. Describing Gaza as the most dangerous and challenging area in the world for both security and work, McGoldrick highlighted that no safe place remains in Gaza. Israel later acknowledged that the aerial strike targeting the American organization “World Central Kitchen” mistakenly hit the eight workers who were delivering food by boat to the affected area of Gaza. McGoldrick expressed her deepest condolences for this tragic incident.
