Every resident of Mongolia is set to receive a dividend of 256 thousand tugriks (approximately 75 dollars) as part of the main state commodity, cashmere, in 2023. This information was revealed by Jigjid Ganbat, the head of the state-owned company “Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi”. The dividends will be available for payment in 2023 after undergoing necessary financial checks. On April 3rd and 4th, each resident of Mongolia, who possesses 1,072 shares of the company, will receive 256 thousand tugriks. Furthermore, starting from April 11, 2012, dividends for newborn beneficiaries will be transferred to the child’s account. This increase in dividends comes as a result of the company’s mining of cashmere generating higher revenue for 2023. Currently, all 3.5 million residents of Mongolia are shareholders of “Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi”, the largest shareholder in the mining industry with assets evaluated at nearly 7 billion dollars. It is worth noting that the mining industry was established in the 1950s with the assistance of consultants from the Soviet Union and has since engaged in joint operations in the area.
