“Yerevan City Hall Commits to Green Future With 250 Electric Buses for Municipal Transport Fleet”

Yerevan City Hall has announced plans to introduce approximately 250 electric buses into its municipal transport fleet. The announcement was made during a meeting of the executive body of Yerevan City Hall on April 1st.

The objective of this initiative is to collaborate with international partners to implement the project successfully.

“The incorporation of new and advanced transport fleets is a vital component of our transportation network. The ‘Yerevan’ brand buses, which constitute part of our current fleet, will reach the end of their operating term in the upcoming year and need to be replaced. We also face challenges with the existing corridors that require replacement. By acquiring these 250 buses, we will be able to meet the complete demand of our transport network,” explained Tigran Avinyan.

The subsequent stage involves the full implementation of the ticketing system, which is expected to be finalized by September. Avinyan emphasized that the transitional shift from cash payment to non-cash payment will commence today to familiarize the public with the new payment method.
