“Azerbaijan’s Suspicious Activities: Alarming Weapons Gatherings amid Tense Border Situation, Warns Armenian Representative”

I have concerns about Azerbaijanis, who appear to be amassing weapons despite the absence of any troop movement near our borders. This information has been reported by NEWS.am. Gagik Melkonyan, the spokesperson for the public-political faction “Civil Contract,” criticized the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan for exaggerating the situation in Armenia. He questioned the reason behind the tension created on April 5, which was triggered by a planned meeting between Pashinyan-Bilenko-Bartsini and Leyen. Melkonyan expressed confusion over the tensions between Russia and Azerbaijan and accused Azerbaijan of playing a deceptive game. He also mentioned that he couldn’t fathom the purpose behind the dissemination of misleading information. Despite these concerns, Melkonyan believed the danger was not imminent and reassured that they have dealt with similar situations in the past.

According to Melkonyan, the tension started with the planned meeting between Pashinyan, Bilenko, Bartsini, and Leyen. He observed that Russia was making multiple statements and warned that the situation would worsen if the CSTO got involved. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan continued to provoke Russia with its statements, leading to a confusing double game. Melkonyan expressed his inability to understand the motives behind this tension. He suggested that a hidden agenda was being prepared against Armenia, but at this moment, he did not perceive an immediate danger. He reassured that they were experienced in handling such announcements and believed that normalcy would return once the borders were closed after the arrival of tourists.
