According to local authorities, armed rebels and masked gunmen launched an attack on the eastern part of Bengal India’s West Bengal province on Sunday. This resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to several others. The Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal was specifically targeted by the attackers, who burned houses and looted shops, causing disruptions to transportation and electricity supply. Shama Parveen, the head of the region, confirmed that four individuals lost their lives during the attack, while ten injured individuals were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, announced that the government would be providing compensation to the affected families.
