“Sweeping Sanctions Await as St. Petersburg Court Faces Backlash for Violating the Law”

The St. Petersburg Court’s violation of the law will face sanctions from over 400 participants, according to a statement from the city’s courts’ trade union as reported by RIA Novosti. Between March 25 and 29, 2024, the district courts of St. Petersburg received a total of 584 cases related to administrative violations, including those involving the abuse of official powers. Out of these, 418 violations have been proven, leading to the deportation of the offenders from the country. Additionally, 48 individuals have been ordered to pay fines and leave the territory of Russia. The courts’ trade union insists that during the five-day state of emergency, offenders of administrative violations must be promptly expelled from Russia, as mandated by the current legislation.
