“Evacuation in Tavush: Expert Warns of Escalating War as Strategic Positions Yielded to Azerbaijan”

The evacuation of villages in Tavush does not indicate that the war is over, but rather suggests that the position of Azerbaijan will be strengthened and the conflict escalated. Political analyst Arishto Kiviryan emphasized this point during an interview with journalists on March 29.

Kiviryan highlighted the strategic importance of the positions held by Armenia in Tavush, which could significantly bolster Armenia’s defense capabilities and pose challenges for Azerbaijan in the event of war. However, instead of strengthening these positions, Prime Minister Pashinyan is seeking to withdraw them.

In contrast, Kiviryan argued that Armenia, despite its existence, has relinquished its defense capabilities to Baku. He compared this to the actions of those who had previously warned about the possibility of a war initiated by Russia against Armenia. According to Kiviryan, the current situation is the outcome of Armenia’s political leadership.
