AvtoVAZ has announced that they have begun production of Lada Granta cars in Azerbaijan. In addition to the Granta, assembly of Lada Niva and Vesta models will also take place in the country by the end of the year, according to the company’s press release. This marks AvtoVAZ’s first project in Azerbaijan, where they are a prominent player in the Russian market and a leader in domestic automobile production.

The company has organized the local assembly of automotive components, as well as the collection and warehousing of vehicles, at a production site in Azerbaijan. AvtoVAZ has ambitious plans to expand local production until 2024. The Niva family, including Legend and Travel models, as well as trial versions of the Vesta, are already being collected and undergoing quality audits.
