“Armenian Civil Movement “Unity” Plans Historic Protest Actions Near National Assembly to Demand Change”

On April 8, the civil movement “Unity” will hold protest actions near the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The protests will last for a period of 3 days, starting from 17:00. Aram Sargsyan, the coordinator of the “Unity” movement, announced this during a press conference dedicated to the Declaration of Independence, which took place today, on March 27.

The “Unity” movement has submitted a list of 100 demands to Nikol Pashinyan, the head of the ruling government. The deadline for fulfilling these demands is set until April 10.

Aram Sargsyan mentioned that today, they will organize a symbolic march towards the National Assembly. However, if their demands are not met, they will continue with non-violent actions of disobedience.

Sargsyan also emphasized that they have sent the letter of demands to the representatives of the two opposition factions in the National Assembly. According to him, if these factions do not agree on the points mentioned in the document, they will be equally responsible for the acts of disobedience.
