The findings of the investigation carried out by the RA Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the incident in Arabkir district of Yerevan on March 21, 2024, have been clarified. According to NEWS.am, a report was received at 11:26 am on that day, stating that an unidentified person attacked a foreign tourist and forcibly took their bag. The investigation revealed that the assailant used a “Stalker S17” pepper spray in an area known for criminal activities. Through surveillance footage and other investigative actions, it was determined that a 25-year-old individual was responsible for the incident. At 10:30 am on March 21, 2024, the perpetrator approached the victim from behind, used the pepper spray, hit their head, and fled with their backpack. Luckily, a witness saw the attack and managed to recover the stolen bag, which contained cash and a bank card. The robber was subsequently arrested, and charges were filed against them based on the evidence collected at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the assailant to bring them to justice.
