“Yerevan Court Overturns Decision to Release Head of State University’s Public Administration Department”

Yerevan city’s first instance general jurisdiction court has revoked the decision to release Cole Akopyan, the head of the public administration department of the State University of Bruusov, during a court hearing. This information was reported on Facebook by Lilit Galstyan, a member of the court board.

Janan Andreyev wrote that John Andrew Andreyasyan signed the verdict of the election results, but the administration did not approve the position of the rector. However, the expression of gratitude for the support of the opposition was not endorsed by the rector.

In addition, the university has taken legal actions to restore and clean the rector’s office from unnecessary elements. However, David Gyuljanyan has gained the attention of the opposition.

Now, the university has decided to “clean” itself from unwanted elements. They have initiated disciplinary proceedings against professors who did not approve unilateral decisions and have expelled two rectors from the university. One of these decisions was reversed today.

On February 13, the State University of Bruusov announced an open competition for the position of rector. The only candidate is David Gyuljanyan, who has been fulfilling the obligations of the rector for a year already.

The decision to announce the open competition raises questions as the judicial process has not been completed and the results of the previous election have been declared invalid, contradicting the “Law on Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Republic of Armenia,” according to the ministry’s opinion.

An official letter has been sent to Tigran Khachatryan, the Chairman of the Board of the Supreme Judicial Council, by Janan Andreyev, an employee of the judiciary.
