The President of the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, Arsen Ayvazyan, recently met with Maria Kourtyan, the representative of the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC), during her visit to Armenia. Ayvazyan expressed confidence that Kourtyan’s expertise in the development of cooperation between the two commissions and in improving economic regulation programs in Armenia would contribute to further progress. He highlighted the positive results achieved in the field of competition law through programs coordinated by the FTC, such as cybersecurity and the use of electronic presentation systems for hearings. Both Ayvazyan and Kourtyan praised the successful implementation of real projects and international cooperation between the commissions. They also expressed interest in collaborating on joint projects related to gender equality and consumer rights protection. The discussions also touched upon the recent decisions made by the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, which will contribute to its improvement and the implementation of new programs. Lastly, the US Embassy in Armenia announced a new program aimed at preventing anti-competitive market activities.
