“NCC Implements New Program for Traffic Safety With Installation of Surveillance Cameras”

On March 25, at 15:07, the emergency headquarters of the Aragatsotn regional administration received a distress call from the village of Artashavan regarding a traffic accident involving JEP personnel. The NCC emergency service was requested to assist with the rescue efforts, and they promptly arrived at the scene.

The accident occurred near the village of Artashavan and involved several vehicles. The vehicles involved were an “Opel Zafira” driven by D. Sh., another “Opel Zafira” driven by A. M. (born in 1977), and an “Opel Astra” driven by G. H. (born in 1960).

Prior to the arrival of the rescuers, the drivers A. M. and G. H., as well as the passengers G. M. (born in 2009) and S. Q. (born in 1984), were taken to a medical center. The medical evaluation determined that A. M., G. M., and S. Q. were in satisfactory condition and were discharged. However, G. H.’s condition was assessed as moderate.

The rescuers took the necessary precautions by immobilizing the vehicles involved in the accident and closing the gas valves to prevent any further hazards.

In other news, the NCC recently presented a program for the installation of new surveillance cameras on Armenian roads during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security. The aim of the program is to improve traffic safety in the country. According to Vahé Ghazaryan, the head of the NCC, the program was specifically developed because many drivers in Armenia are unaware of traffic regulations.

The program aims to install surveillance cameras in specific sections of the road to ensure people maintain a permissible speed, rather than abruptly reducing speed when they spot a camera. In addition, the administration plans to upgrade existing cameras located at various intersections in Yerevan to enhance overall security.

These measures and initiatives are part of a broader effort to improve road safety and security in Armenia.
