“Tragic Collision on Yerevan-Sevan Highway Claims Two Lives and Injures Several”

On March 22, 2024 at 18:05, a collision occurred on the Yerevan-Sevan M-4 highway at the 15th kilometer. Cars of various brands including BMW, Ford, Volkswagen, and Skoda were involved in this accident, as reported by Gohar Abrahamyan, the chairman of the investigative committee of the Republic of Armenia, on her Facebook page.

The Skoda car driver and four passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the driver and two passengers of the BMW car tragically lost their lives at the scene. The incident resulted in damage to the location and the vehicles involved. The damaged cars were subsequently moved to a secured area. Medical examinations were conducted on the drivers who were found to be in stable condition. Several individuals were also interviewed as part of the investigation.

During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that at 18:05, on the 15th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan M-4 highway, the BMW car collided with a Skoda car. The circumstances surrounding this collision are still unclear. Following this initial collision, the BMW car then collided with a Ford car carrying 16 passengers, as well as a Volkswagen car. These collisions resulted in the sudden ejection of the cars with passengers.

The investigation is still ongoing, and efforts are being made to gather more information regarding the circumstances involving the BMW car. The condition of the injured individuals who were taken to the hospital is satisfactory, and they have all been discharged. However, according to the report, one of the 16 passengers in the Ford car was not found to be injured.
