“Road Closures and Challenging Conditions: Public Service Issues Warning to Drivers in Armenia”

The public service has informed that there are several closed and difficult-to-access roads in the Republic of Armenia. One of these roads is the route from the “Amberd” highland observatory in Aragatsotn province to Amberd fortress and Karilich lake, which is currently closed. Another closed section is the part of the M-2 highway leading to Jermuk city, which is shut in both directions due to a landslide. Additionally, the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway is currently challenging to access for all types of transportation.

In Lori province, specific areas such as Aparan, Aragats, Gavar, Sevan, Hrazdan city, Dilijan villages, and the section known as “Zanger” are experiencing icy conditions. The National Crisis Management Center of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with the South Ossetian Center for Crisis Management of the Russian Federation, have confirmed that the Stepanakert-Larsi highway is closed for all types of transportation.

Given these circumstances, it is strongly advised for drivers to exercise caution when traveling under winter conditions. Stay safe on the roads!
