In an interview with Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Fesser stated that based on the information currently available, it is likely that the “Islamic State of Khurasan” is responsible for the attack. He also emphasized that the threat of Islamist terrorism remains high. Fesser expressed his condolences to the victims and their families, highlighting that this incident, along with the recent bombing in Kerman, Iran, demonstrates the serious global threat posed by Islamist terrorism.
