“Prime Minister Pashinyan and European Council President Michel discuss Armenia-EU partnership and Artsakh conflict resolution, set for May 2023 talks in Brussels”

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, recently held a meeting with Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, to discuss matters concerning nuclear energy. According to information provided by the Prime Minister’s office, the primary topics of discussion included the partnership between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the ongoing conflict in Artsakh. It has been decided that further discussions will be held in May 2023 in Brussels, involving representatives from the Eastern Partnership, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the President of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, great emphasis was placed on the importance of finding a solution that aligns with the principles of peace negotiations, mediation, and equality. These principles were recognized in the Declaration of Independence for both the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Alma-Ata in 1991. The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to the obligations stated in the Declaration and presented the “Roadmap for Peaceful Settlement” initiative.

Overall, this meeting signifies the continuation of diplomatic efforts to address key issues in the region and work towards achieving lasting peace and stability.
