“Record-breaking Fines Imposed on Violators of Electronic Cash Register Rules in February 2024, totaling AMD 52.45 million”

Public authorities have reported a significant number of violations regarding the use of electronic cash registers in February 2024. A total of 150 cases have been recorded, resulting in fines amounting to AMD 52.45 million. Among these cases, 4 taxpayers faced fines exceeding AMD 1.0 million, with a combined total of fines reaching 15.5 million.

The violations were observed in various sectors, with the retail industry bearing the brunt of the infractions. In three separate instances, fines totaling approximately 12.84 million AMD were imposed. Additionally, a single case in the fields of banking, credit, insurance, or other financial or transportation activities resulted in a fine of around 2.66 million AMD for one taxpayer.

These findings serve as a reminder of the importance of adhering to the regulations governing electronic cash registers. By doing so, businesses can avoid penalties and contribute to a fair and transparent financial environment in Armenia.
